ArteFill®
ArteFill® is a non-absorbable, permanent wrinkle filler used to correct smile lines. ArteFill uses a unique dual-acting formula made of a combination of 20% ArteFill Precision-Filtered MicrospheresTM and 80% ArteFill Purified Bovine CollagenTM. The result is the immediately visible correction of facial wrinkles and folds in as few as one or two treatment sessions with no downtime.
Unlike other injectables, ArteFill is not absorbed into the body. Its composition allows the gel to sit beneath the skin and provide permanent support to remove the appearance of the wrinkle. ArteFill is made from polymethylmethacrylate (PMMA) and purified bovine collagen. PMMA is the active ingredient that has been proven as a facial filling substance for years, while the bovine collagen serves as a carrier and anesthetic to deliver the substance to the desired area and keep it firmly in place.
